PUMA
PUMA® is the global athletic brand that fuses influences from sport, lifestyle and fashion to produce the unexpected in sportlifestyle footwear, apparel and accessories. PUMA has partnered with Kehinde Wiley, one of the world’s most sought-after urban artists, for their spring summer 2010 lifestyle collection of apparel, footwear and accessories. The PUMA Africa lifestyle collection uses seven graphic patterns from Wiley’s existing work and integrates them throughout the collection.
The collaboration is part of a larger Africa-themed campaign PUMA is embarking on in advance of World Cup 2010, to be held in South Africa in June. PUMA, which sponsors 12 African national football teams, is expanding its reach to create African-inspired lifestyle products in tandem with Wiley.
PUMA also commissioned Wiley to create four original works of art inspired by three of football’s most decorated players - Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o, Ghana’s John Mensah and the Ivory Coast’s Emmanuel Eboue. The artworks are on a global tour taking in Paris, London, New York, Beijing and Milan, and ending in Cape Town in June for the World Cup.
