Lourensford Estate has launched a #SeasonsOfLourensford Instagram-based photographic competition and invites the public to capture the beauty of the wine estate as it is transformed by the seasons.

There will be a prize for each of Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring but competition entrants will also be eligible for a grand prize with the winner being announced at the inaugural #SeasonsOfLourensford photographic exhibition, to be launched in November 2017.

One of the world’s most beautiful wine estates, Lourensford offers photographers a visual feast across 4000 hectares of forest, Fynbos, fruit orchards, vineyards and mountains. So whether it’s blossoms on the apple trees, new buds on the vines or one of the glorious Proteas, which thrive on the farm, there are endless opportunities for eager photographers to portray the distinctive beauty of each season.

The #SeasonsOfLourensford competition seasonal deadlines:

  1. Summer – 7 April 2017
  2. Autumn – 31 May 2017
  3. Winter – 31 August 2017
  4. Spring – 31 October 2017

 How to enter:

  1. The public can enter by uploading an image taken at Lourensford Estate to their personal Instagram account, ensuring they tag @Lourensford in the post and use the hashtags #SeasonsOfLourensford and #LoveLourensford.
  2. Lourensford will choose the 9 best images for each season and repost them on the @Lourensford Instagram feed, calling on the public to comment on their favourite.
  3. Finalists can encourage their followers to vote; only one vote a follower will count.
  4. The image that gets the most votes from unique users will win and be displayed in the #SeasonsOfLourensford exhibition.

The Prizes:

Each seasonal winner gets Lourensford wine to the value of R1000, and is automatically entered into the draw for the Grand Prize, which will be announced at the #SeasonsOfLourensford exhibition at the estate in November 2017. A grand winner and runners up will be announced at the event. The grand prize includes a one-night stay at Erinvale plus Lourensford Estate experience, all valued at R5000. A second and a third place will also be selected on the night, each winning a Louresnford Estate experience valued at R3000 and R1500, respectively.
